James McIntyre Contemporary Artist

A maverick, eccentric, tough and very talented nonconformist, a legacy of his family heritage, James (Jimac) is the grandson of big Jim Healy, one of Australians most colourful characters. Big Jim was a friend to world leaders, a thorn in the side of prime ministers… jailed, regaled and honoured, he is still celebrated as one of the toughest and most influential men in Australian politics.

With a prolific body of work spanning over three decades, James has a colourful history of his own. The story of his life is reflected in his art… well-travelled, with a unique prospective on the world, James is a veteran of the streets of Sydney, New York, Paris and the Amazon jungle. His passion for South America and the Australian red centre (to name but two places) is evident in his richly detailed work.
